Subaru Targets Young Asian American Buyers with New Sweet Tomorrow Campaign


Subaru’s American division is taking audience segmentation a step further with the release of a new advertising campaign for the 2011 Legacy that specifically targets the Chinese-American market. The campaign has been produced in Cantonese, Mandarin and English, and can be seen across a wide variety of media placements including TV, print, online and out-of-home running.

The television spot is called “Sweet Tomorrow” and it shows a young Chinese American couple preparing for the birth of their first child. The advert is scheduled to air through October 2011.

Subaru History
The word "Subaru"is the name in Japanese, the Pleiades star cluster, which is represented on the company logo. Despite Subaru being a small company in the automotive sector, compared with many of its competitors, Subaru has been a highly profitable company for many years. It is notable for its production of conventional cars (three-volume, station wagon / van and "hatch") with 4X4 wheel drive (in fact, in many markets it serves, the only supply vehicles of the brand is available with this type of traction , Besides using boxer engine with 4 cylinders opposite pairs.

2010 Subaru Legacy and Legacy Outback Artist's Impressions

In spite of the fact that the revealing of the close-to-production Legacy Concept at the 2009 Detroit Show in January hasn't left much to the imagination, nevertheless, Japan's Best Car rendering artists have attempted to tone down the design of the study to give us a more accurate view of the 2010 Legacy that is rumored to be unveiled at this April's New York Auto Show.

As well as performing a few minor changes on the sedan to make it look more production ready, Best Car's artists also drew up a couple of renderings of the station wagon and Outback variants of the 2010 Legacy.

Subaru Legacy Concept Revealed at Detroit Show - 29 High-Res Photos

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Legacy, Subaru unveiled the "Legacy Concept" at the 2009 North American International Show, essentially previewing the next-generation model that will arrive in showrooms early next year. Though the concept car has definitely more "presence" that the current Legacy, it seems as if Subaru's designers randomly added lines and arches to the saloon in a desperate attempt to make it look dramatic and somewhat different from the opposition. Bottom line, our opinion is that this is a design you'd expect from a Chinese manufacturer and not an established automaker like Subaru.

 Subaru Legacy Concept Inside, the Legacy Concept's cabin features a four-seat layout and is distinguished by a high-tech look that is achieved by a mix of touch-screens, cameras and modern surface coverings.

The concept model is powered by Subaru's 3.6-litre six-cylinder boxer engine that's combined with the firm's Symmetrical all-wheel drive system. Next year's production version will of course be available with a broader line-up that will include in Europe Subaru's boxer-diesel engine.
